Barton Nunnelly, is an author and artist who was born and raised in Kentucky, where he spent decades searching the bottom lands of the Bluegrass State for evidence of its unsolved mysteries which he shared in his first book, Mysterious Kentucky. His curiosity has brought him face to face with such creatures as Bigfoot, water monsters, black panthers and other mysterious cryptids including a Thunderbird in 1998.

The Devil at Lost Creek

Thank you Raymond for this short Gem!  Bigfoot enthusiasts will get a kick out of seeing the Bigfoot books and figurines that we have in our own collections!  Not a lot of great acting, but a fun, short video to watch on your lunch break at work! ;)

Little Gary and Shelley live in a dismal world of poverty, trying to avoid their mothers abusive, drug-dealing boyfriend. Their mother, Susan, hesitates to seek help, afraid the state will take her children. Gary and Shelley escape into an innocent dream world, trekking into the woods to search for Garys obsession Bigfoot.

Children say, if you hit a stick against a tree three times in the wilderness, Bigfoot will appear.

In a moment of crisis, Gary calls forth a creature of rage, death and destruction. Is it a demon or avenging angel? Not even the children are safe from its wrath. At Lost Creek, the devil is on the loose.

Visits from the Forest People

I received my complimentary review copy of Visits from the Forest People by Julie Scott and the Scott family and sat down on a snowy Saturday afternoon to read.  The book was not very long at all and I was finished by dinner time.
  The Scott family moved into a new home on the Oregon coast and immediately began having strange experiences with what they believed to be a Bigfoot creature.  I was disappointed in the lack of physical evidence shared by the story teller, but I had a chance to chat with researcher "Barb" who assures me that the occurrences were real.
 Julie and her husband make no secret of the fact that they were not happy in their new home and had moved on after only 6 months.  Ironically, a Bigfoot enthusiast took over possession of the home for the remainder of their year long lease.  Several researchers inhabited the homestead in the 6 months and gave up the property as the incidents decreased over time.
The book offers little more than a Class B report and Julie's story has been told on several internet radio shows and reported on the BFRO website.

23rd Annual Ohio Bigfoot Conference

The rumblings have already begun and people are itching for more information!

Bigfoot Ballyhoo

Linda Newton Perry had originally come to me about a year and a half ago to promote her children's books.  I was more than willing to spread the word about her books as they were harmless and entertaining and a positive spin on Bigfoot research.

I'm not sure where she went astray from her original quest.

The 200th Anniversary of the First Reported Bigfoot Sighting?

On January 7, 1811 Canadian explorer David Thompson recorded these words in his daily journal while pioneering through what is now Alberta, Canada:

[In the snow] I saw the track of a large Animal - has 4 large Toes abt 3 or 4 In long & a small nail at the end of each... The whole is about 14 In long by 8 In wide & very much resembles a large Bear's Track."

The Bigfoot Field Reporter Radio Show Returns

I always seem to get antsy for Bigfoot in January.  I don't like the cold much and it just seems like the hairy ones like to lay low in the winter months.  So, why not revive the radio show?
My first guest will be Steven Streufert of Willow Creek.  Steven is the sole proprietor of Bigfoot Books in Willow Creek and I have had the chance to hang out with Steven in the past 2 years.

Steven was our guide who took us down the Go road to Bluff Creek on that hot August day.  He had to leave us before it got dark and the 5 of us spent the night in the dark until Bobo and Slasher showed up around 11 pm.

It is so amazing how people in this field of Bigfootery can bond so quickly.  We laughed all night, then came the fateful return up the mountain the next day...but you all know that story.

I met Steven again at the Oregon Sasquatch symposium and we spent a few hours relaxing and chatting during the breaks.

Bigfoot sightings expected in Ketchum

Film, lecture part of Sun Valley Center program

As part of its ongoing multidisciplinary project Creatures, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts will be showing the documentary Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 6:30 p.m. The screening will be held at The Center in Ketchum. Admission is free and the movie lasts about an hour.

Jay Delaney's 2008 film follows two amateur Bigfoot researchers, Dallas Gilbert and Wayne Burton, as they try to track the legendary creature in the Appalachian foothills of southern Ohio. Along the way we see how the power of a dream can bring two men together in friendship and provide hope and meaning that transcend the harsh realities of life in a dying steel town.

The film was an official selection at multiple independent film festivals in 2008 and 2009. The Chicago Tribune called it "a story of enduring friendship and epic dreams."

The Center also presents Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, considered by many to be the nation's leading expert on Sasquatch, for a lecture on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 6:30 p.m.

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is an example of a cryptid, a creature whose existence has been reported but is unconfirmed by the scientific community. Cryptids are at the heart of The Center's current visual arts exhibition, Creatures: From Bigfoot to the Yeti Crab. Prior to the film screening, The Center is offering a free guided tour of the exhibition at 5:30 p.m.

Bluff Creek Film Site Project-Information Needed

BFROVIDEOS. Steven Streufert, Ian and Robert Leiterman are taking another look at the P-G Film site 43 years later. With conflicting thoughts as to exactly where the film site is today, they have decided to re-evaluate the facts, interview those in the know and spend some extensive leg work on the ground. They are trying to piece together what nature has spent the last 43 years turning back into a riparian forest. Part of an on going series.

Message from Steven Streufert:  Sharon, if any of your connections out there have photos or recollections of the PGF site in the late 70s, 80s or earlier 90s that would be very helpful! We need to establish a time range scale of changes.

Everybody Has One!

Last night on Facebook, a friend posted this pic claiming that it was caught on a game cam near Fouke, Arkansas.  He claims " My fiance's coworker has a husband who checked his game cam recently...and look what was on there"

I then wake up this morning to read on Cryptomundo that this image is being posted on MSNBC as from a game camera in Berwick, Louisiana.  I checked the map and, hmmm Fouke and Berwick are not even near each other!

Is there a hoax in the making??????  If anyone has more information, I'd love to hear it!

Obviously it is one of those hoaxes that spread rumors like wildfire....There are people all over the internet claiming to have captured this exact image on their trail cam pic.  Here is a post from another website "

Very freaky trail cam picture.... don't know what to think..?

Don't know what to think about this one fellers.... Went and checked my camera today and this is what it had on it.... The ground directly in front of my tree was completely tore up, the trail cam had been torn off the tree, straps were popped and everything. Camera was laying face down about 10 ft. from the tree it was attached too. Bark was knocked off the tree where the camera had been, like something had knocked it off while trying to twist camera off the tree. This was the only picture I got of "it" as I had it set on a 2 minute timer. The first picture is of "it", and the second is a picture from a lil while ago of the same spot, just for reference. Checking this right at dusk with a 3/4 mile walk out ahead of you will scare a feller..... When I saw it, my blood ran cold. Still gives me shivers.... What do you guys think?"  Of course the picture was of the same ghoulish figure.  However this man did have another picture dated  earlier from the same location.
 
I would love for the real owner to Please Stand Up!  I have a feeling it is an advertising gimmick for Wildgame Innovations!   What a way to get people talking!
