Western PA Update

Good evening! It is August 8, 2009, 7:38 p.m. EST.

I just wanted to give you all a brief update on the activities of last night.

I met Eric Altman at the rendezvous location around 9 p.m. We then proceeded to the research area where Dave and Dwayne had already set up their chairs and cameras for the evening.

Dwayne was wearing a hardhat due to the rock throwing the previous week!

After brief introductions, we got right into squatching mode! It was around 10:30 p.m. and I had taken out my audio recorder to document some casual conversations with the guys, and to keep notes of the evening's events.

Eric and Dave went to the area where the cars were parked to check out some movement and possible eyeshine, leaving Dwayne and myself up the hill to chat.

I had expressed a desire to have rocks thrown at me, and within 15 minutes, my wish was granted!

Eric and Dave were about 200 yards down the trail, their lights within eyesight, and Dave and I were casually talking when a rock flew over our heads, horizontally from behind us, and hitting the tensile wire fence which was about 12 feet in front of us.

AND folks, I have it on audio...you can hear the rock whipping through the branches and just missing our heads.

Of course yours truly utters her famous expletive! The audio will be posted Monday.

We spent the next 5 hours walking the trail, call blasting, whooping and throwing rocks back into the woods.

The activity was sporadic. We would have rock throwing for about 5 minutes, always accurate aim, mostly in my direction, then about a half hour of silence.

The activity seemed to accelerate after provocation on our part.

We did not have any visuals or audio to report. However, this area will be continually observed and perhaps a PBS expedition in the fall.

I went back to the area the following morning looking for any signs, but to no avail. I did snap a few pics of the area and will post those soon.

Please visit this blog for audio and picture updates.

This week I will be preparing for my trip to the Pacific Northwest and will be interviewing many west coast researchers!

Radio Shows and Salt Fork Audio

Good Morning! It is Thursday, August 6, 2009 and I have just a little over a week until I hit the West Coast hiking up the Bigfoot Trail! Well, mostly driving....

I have received many emails welcoming me back as a co-host on Don Keating's radio show, The Sasquatch Triangle. Thank you very much!

On last week's show, I told the listeners about a piece of audio I obtained while Squatching out at Salt Fork. I will gladly share the audio with anyone if you would email me at: sharonlee@thebigfootfieldreporter.com. Yeah that's a lot of typing, I
know.

Or, just click here to email me.

The next airing of The Sasquatch Triangle is next Wednesday, August 12th.

On Thursday, August 13th at 9:00 p.m., I will be hosting my very own radio show on Talkshoe called, The Bigfoot Field Reporter. Hopefully I will be joined by my best friend Drey and it will be an awesome show. Please tune in!

Update From Eric Altman

Hello everyone,

I've been busy as of late with personal issues, and such and trying to organize a fall expedition. I was planning on holding it during the labor day weekend, however that weekend didnt work well for most people. Therefore, I have moved the date of the fall expedition to September 18, 19, 20 2009. The location of the expedition will be held in West Central Pennsylvania with our base camping out of Parker Dam State Park.

I have been working with a few researchers in the area, Dave Rupert, Sean Forker and Ernie Delp and others to come up with a few areas to send teams into to investigate, conduct night ops, and day ops research. We will continue our scouting and field preperation work in these areas in the next few weeks. We have several locations where there have been reports of recent activity that has taken place in the past 3 months where sightings have taken place and/or our research team has experienced activity. In order to better organize this expedition, I would like to get a head count as to how many will be attending or planning to attend.

We are looking at reserving a group camping site area at Parker dam where everyone will need to submit payments for your share of the camp site, and you will have to pay 3.00 per day to use the public shower facility. Once we get a head count I will send out how much individual costs will be to camp. Individuals interested in attending must provide your own camping, cooking and research equipment, along with own food to cook. This expedition will be free to attend and participate in, however you will be responsible to pay for your own share of the campsite, for use of the showers, providing your own camping gear and research equipment, your own food and cooking it and transportation to the campgrounds. I need to have a head count by August 15 so that we can start to plan teams to send into various locations. At this point we are looking at 4 areas where we can send in research teams to investigate.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP by August 15, 2009. If you are uncertain, please RSVP so that we can plan on your attending and can prepare for you to attend, rather than have you attend and we do not have a head count and preperations in place.

These areas we are sending teams into, have had on going activity, sightings and reports during the past few months and historically for a long period of time.

Our hope is to incorporate several research organizations to work together to collect information, data and any evidence. If you do not plan to attend, or are not able. Please email me and I'll remove your name from the mailing list. I can tell you from a recent trip to the area, the investigators involved have had some interesting, yet inconclusive experiences that warrant further investigation.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society Director

In the field this weekend...

Good morning! Today is August 3rd, 2009.

There were a few good squatchers out this past weekend, suffering through the rain and humidity of the north east United States.

Eric Altman and crew were out Friday and Saturday night in their research area in Pennsylvania, following up on some recent activity! The guys were having stones thrown, wood knocks, and movement around their camp all night. They will be returning to this active area.

Don K. and friends were out at Salt Fork Friday and Saturday night, but have not reported any activity to this reporter.

On Sunday, Dave (Bluetracker) and Bob (Lowrider), went hiking in Dave's research areas, and I met up with them for the second leg of the hike.

Beautiful scenery, great to be back in the woods. Many odd stick formations, deer, and a li'l snake who had just eaten some dinner.

I was kind of out of pocket this weekend having gone to the West Virgina Derby, but will be back on track this week following everyone's research!

Please let me know if you have any news you would like to share from your part of the country!
