In an unconfirmed report, Bigfoot visited the town of Culpeper last week, leaving a massive dent on the top of the town manager’s work car.

On a more serious note, someone — or something — flattened the top of the 2000 Ford Contour as it sat parked in the lot at town hall.

Culpeper Town Manager Jeff Muzzy, contacted Monday, was at a loss as to what happened.

“It looks like something fell or jumped up and down on it for several minutes,” he said. “I do not think this is personal. In fact, I had not even thought of that as a possibility.”

Though the older model car is assigned to him for work use, Muzzy said he rarely drives it. Instead, the car is more often used by other town hall staff members, he said.

The car is parked farthest out from town hall and closest to Main Street — within a stone’s throw from 7-Eleven. It sits not far from the back entrance to the law offices of Monica Chernin as well.

The car is not identifiable as the town manager’s work car and is parked in a spot reserved, more generally, for town staff.

Muzzy said the town filed an insurance claim for the damage, but he doubted it would result in much money due to the vehicle’s age. The Contour, is still drivable, he said, and was away from its parking spot and in use Monday morning.

“To me, someone just wandered over there and said, ‘Boy, wouldn’t it be fun to jump on that car?’ I hate to even give them credit for it,” Muzzy said.

He acknowledged town staffers are still talking about the strange incident. Many theories — including the Bigfoot one — have been tossed around.

Or maybe it was a bear, some have jokingly speculated.

The damage was reported to police, and the incident is being investigated as vandalism.

Scientists may have found the great, great, great, etc., grandfather of the famous fossil Lucy. A new partial skeleton of an early hominid known as Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in a mud flat of the Afar region of Ethiopia. Dated about 3.6 million years ago, the find is about 400,000 years older than the famous Lucy, which was among the earliest upright walking hominids, researchers report in Tuesday's edition of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The bones indicate this ancestor also walked upright, but was considerably larger than Lucy, who stood about 3.5 feet tall.

Sasquatch Phonetic Alphabet

On Sunday June 20th, R. Scott Nelson presented his findings from his 2+ years of research on the Sierra sound recordings obtained by Al Berry and Ron Morehead in the 1970's.

His presentation was delivered as an urgent plea for all researchers who have recorded audio of the vocalizations of what they suspect to be of a Sasquatch nature, to immediately begin deciphering their data by using the Sasquatch Phonetic Alphabet that he has created.

It is Mr. Nelson's belief that we will be able to learn so much more about the Bigfoot by learning their language rather than from footprint casts, hair samples or blurry photographs.

Scott Nelson retired from a successful career with the U.S. Navy as a crypto-linguist. He has many years of experience in deciphering and transcribing many conversations in foreign languages.

The following information has been cleared for publication and I will share it with you at this time.

Re: Sasquatch Phonetic Alphabet (SPA) (attached)

Since I became involved in Sasquatch research a little over two years ago, I have received dozens of e-mails from around the country involving first-hand witness accounts, many containing recorded audio files, of perceived Sasquatch Language. Virtually all of these have included an attempt to spell out Sasquatch “words” using Standard English. This is of little value to the language researcher, since English is notoriously non-phonetic and is subject to widely-varied local dialects.

Since our ultimate goal is the recovery of Sasquatch Language, I have found it necessary to establish a phonetic alphabet and transcription standard (based on the transcription of the Berry/Morehead tapes), by which the contrast and comparison of all future suspected language can be facilitated.

To this end, as an invaluable tool in the future of Sasquatch Language research, I am requesting that the attached standard be published on research web-sites and that it be copied and distributed freely. With this, I am also requesting that local investigators begin using this alphabet as soon as possible to accurately document any perceived Sasquatch Language.

This standard should not be limited to first-hand witness accounts or recordings from North America, but should be used by investigators world-wide, since most languages have many of the same non-phonetic characteristics as English. The work is written in the style of a military SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).

It is my belief that there is nothing more important, at this early stage of Sasquatch Language study, than to standardize the documentation of evidence.

With highest regard for all those engaged in the work of Sasquatch recognition;

SPA Documents
Sasquatch Phonetic Alphabet and Transcription Standard
Submitted by R. Scott Nelson

The Sasquatch Phonetic Alphabet (SPA) will alternately be known by the more formal denomination, Unclassified Hominid Phonetic Alphabet (UHPA), until such time as the subject Being is scientifically classified, or documented linguistic contact has been established. “Sasquatch” is used here as a generally accepted term for the subject Being. A variation of the English Reformed Phonetic Alphabet is used, as transcribed from the Berry/Morehead Tapes (BMT).
The existence of the Sasquatch Being is hereby assumed, since any creature must exist before his language. Any argument for the existence of Sasquatch or his language should be given outside of this standard and outside any transcription endeavor that uses this standard. Transcripts should stand alone as tools for the language researcher; whereas SPA transcripts and excerpts should be freely used in other works to support linguistic arguments.
The purpose of this is to standardize all future transcription of suspected Sasquatch Language and to facilitate comparison of language articulations by future researchers; the ultimate goal being the recovery of Sasquatch Language.
Sasquatch Language is spoken approximately twice as fast as any known language in most analyzed recordings, therefore it must be slowed down to be transcribed accurately. 50% of real-time will be the standard; transcription at any other speed will be noted, e.g. (75%). Real-time will be noted as (rt). Tape-time hacks will be given as minute:second.1/100thsecond, e.g. 17:23.54.
Since this is an unknown language, transcribed for the first time, the grammar and syntax of it, likewise, cannot be known. Therefore, to differentiate between small and capital letters is useless and misleading. Sasquatch articulations will be transcribed using capital letters, human voices are to be transcribed by the standards of the language that is spoken (proper English, Russian, etc.). This eases reading of the transcripts when human and Sasquatch voices are mixed or alternating. Since words cannot be known, and only suspected in cognates, Sasquatch utterances will be given as individual morphemes (or syllables). An umlaut (Ä) is used rather than a macron (-) to avoid confusion with the English use of the same symbol.
Small letters within parenthesis will be used, in accordance with military transcription standards, to abbreviate specific notes, e.g. (2-3m) to mean (two or three words or morphemes are missing or inaudible here). Untranscribable vocalizations such as grunts or screams will be noted with capital letters within parenthesis, e.g. (G) or (SC). An abbreviation key follows the phonetics key.
Any document using this alphabet should be labeled (SPA) or (UHPA).
Use in first-hand witness accounts:
This alphabet is not intended to be used solely for the transcription of recorded language, but will be highly useful in first-hand witness accounts of Sasquatch phenomena where the witness perceived spoken language. Researchers, when documenting witness accounts, should endeavor to transcribe each Sasquatch utterance as accurately as possible using this alphabet. As an invaluable aid to the language researcher, several questions should be asked of the witness to correlate with the utterances of the Sasquatch Being:
What was occurring at the moment of each specific utterance?
How many Sasquatch Beings do you believe were present; how many were speaking?
Did you feel that the Sasquatch Beings were speaking to each other or to you (the witness)?
What do you think the Being was trying to communicate?
What do you feel was the emotional state of the Being (for each specific utterance)?
Was there interrogative inflection in the utterance (did it sound like a question)?
Was there imperative or command inflection in the utterance (did it sound like the Being was telling you or another Sasquatch to do or not do something)?
___
This alphabet is expected to grow as additional verified recordings of Sasquatch Language are collected and analyzed, and new extra-human articulations are documented. For example; the well-documented howls, whoops, growls, screams and whistles of Sasquatch may someday be found to have linguistic meaning; wood- and rock-knocking or tooth-popping may be found to be encoded. It should not be discounted that manipulated tree, limb and stick formations could be graphic expressions of Sasquatch Language, much like runic or pictographic human writing systems.
Since auditory perception is subject to the same limitations of all human perception, review and revision of any transcript by other qualified Crypto-Linguists or voice- transcription experts should be welcomed. With the recovery of Sasquatch Language being the anticipated outcome, cooperation and consensus between language researchers should be the first rule of this study.
The first two pages of Berry Tape I transcription are attached as an example of the prescribed usage of this alphabet.

Now many scofftics will argue that before we recognize this language, we must first acknowledge that these creatures do indeed exist.

For those of you who have seen a Bigfoot, you probably won't have a problem with his findings.

There are some of you who will turn up your noses and begin shredding every word in these documents. No harm, it's what you do.

Points to consider:

How do we know if Bigfoots in Washington, use the same language as Bigfoots in Ohio?

Is the SPA to be considered the "root" language, allowing for cultural variations and adaptation? Such as humans use many words derived from Latin and Greek origins.

Mr. Nelson has taken this under much consideration and I am sure he will answer your questions and comments as they are presented.

Please use this website to add your comments and insight and I will forward them to Scott for explanation and rebuttal.

Oregon Sasquatch Symposium, Breakdown

Oregon Sasquatch Symposium, Breakdown

I never thought I'd utter the words "the beautiful Ohio weather" but that is what I said as I left the 80 degree days to head out to Eugene, Oregon where the temps were expected to be in the low to mid 60's as the high! But, alas, the Bigfoot Field Reporter goes where the action is.

Friday was a day for meeting up with old friends and hanging out for awhile before the festivities began. Several of us headed out for lunch and a visit to the Museum of Unfine Art to observe the local Sasquatch art on display. It was amazing to see how the artists portray their version of Bigfoot. The pieces varied in price from $45 to over $300; if I had more money, I would have bought them all.

We then headed over to the Red Lion Inn for the pre-symposium Meet and Greet and I had to prepare for the live radio show. Well, as many of you know, that turned into a train wreck due to loss of signal and other malfunctions. I did however record some interviews and will piece together a pre-recorded show for your listening pleasure.

There were about 50 people in the room. Bob Gimlin, Paul Graves, Jerry Hein. Jerry made buttons for some of us with our pictures on them. He is so sweet!

I finally got to meet Toby Johnson, the coordinator of the event. He really did a heck of a job and does a phenomenal Neil Diamond! Henry May was there as well as Autumn Williams, Kathy and Bob Strain, Thom Cantrall, Jeff Meldrum, Craig Woolheater, Sali Sheppard-Wolford, Cliff Barackman and so many more!

After the crash and burn of the radio show, we headed down to the lounge for some Bigfoot Karaoke. Due to the absence of Tom Yamarone we were forced to entertain ourselves! Wow. Talk about a fun night! I was doing a little smack talking with Autumn and challenged her to a sing-off. It was on...I think I will take the high road here and concede that she won the match by a very slim margin. Just you wait missy!

I can't believe I had so much fun on the very first day! I am in love with the west coast squatchers, they are so amazing.

KATU Report on the Oregon Sasquatch Symposium

Have you seen Bigfoot? Better head to Eugene meetup

EUGENE, Ore. - Hiding behind many names - Wild man, Sasquatch, Yeti, Bigfoot - our furry friend has been noted and talked about through history.

Starting June 19, Lane Community College's first Sasquatch Symposium will take place, allowing for believers, and those curious to discuss their experiences and learn more about the alleged creature.

Fact is, more than a thousand people have reported some sort of Sasquatch sighting or experience in Oregon. "It's something that seems to be happening in our own backyard," said Toby Johnson, an organizer of the symposium.

His Bigfoot experience dates back to a cold February morning years ago. "I was on a hike with my son not far from Springfield," Johnson said. They came across a large footprint in the frozen mud and took a picture of it.

"You can see the five toes clearly," he said.

And he was hooked, which is why he helped create the Oregon Sasquatch Symposium at Lane Community College this weekend.

Oregon has more than 30 million acres of forest land, that's nearly half the state, and Oregon believers say that may be why Bigfoot has been able to stay hidden.

In addition to witnesses there will also be Big Foot researchers like Oregon's Autumn Williams. She is the keynote speaker. On top of being a witness herself, she has been hunting Big Foot for nearly 20 years and recently released a documentary about her search. She also owns and operates one of biggest Bigfoot websites in the West.

Now of course there are many non-believers of the Oregon Sasquatch. To this day many scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification and hoax.

But for people like Johnson, a once in a lifetime experience is all it takes. "When you talk to someone who has seen one of these things, you get the feeling they are absolutely authentic," Johnson said.

Bigfoot afoot? Local legend resurfaces after reported sighting near Casar
Monday, Jun 14 2010, 10:00 am
David Allen

Legend speaks of an ape-like creature who called Upper Cleveland County home in the late 1970s.

Robert Williams, then covering the news for Charlotte media outlets, named him “Knobby,” a towering beast many considered as the resident Bigfoot.

Williams never saw Knobby — “I only wrote what I was told.”

Knobby stories flew overseas, Williams said, drawing interest from New Zealand and beyond. Newspaper articles from 1979 detail more than a dozen Knobby sightings and investigations by the North American Research Association and researchers from a university in Massachusetts. But the rumors and sightings near Carpenter’s Knob — hence the creature’s name — mysteriously stopped decades ago.

Then, Timothy Peeler called 911.

Looking for a few good Squatchers

If you are in the Cincinnati/Dayton/KY area and would like to hit the woods with like minded people, send me your name and email address and I will connect you with others like yourself!

Sometimes it is hard to find people who have the same goal in mind that you do.

You don't really want to join an organization, you don't need someone else telling you what to do and where you can go and what you can talk about. I get it.

You are not alone!

If you would like to share your location information, I will try to network and bring as many people together as I can!

Saturday's Picnic

On Saturday, a picnic was held in honor of Bob Gimlin and our other visiting guests.

Here are some pictures of the festivities.

Ohio Bigfoot Conference Recap

East Meets West

First of all, I'd like to thank Don Keating for organizing this annual event. Many people may not like Don, but he gets the job done.

So many people came from all over the United States, most of them come to this event every year, but so many more new attendees came just for the chance to meet the legend, Bob Gimlin. Thank you to Joyce Kearney for making this possible. She didn't care to be acknowledged for her "donation" to the conference, but I wanted to do it anyway.

On Thursday I drove down to Columbus to pick up our guests from Texas, Craig Woolheater and Jerry Hestand of the TBRC. Jerry was very excited as this was his first trip to Salt Fork State Park.

We got to the lodge, unpacked, and headed into Cambridge to dine at Theo's restaurant. I highly recommend this establishment and you must try the onion rings!

After dinner, Jerry wanted to do a little night squatching so I took him out to a few areas, the weather was beautiful. Nothing eventful happened and we headed back to the lodge around 1:30 a.m.

Friday morning, we all met for breakfast in the lodge and were joined by Dr. Jeff Meldrum. Bruce Harrington was just finishing his steak and eggs.
:)

I then had to head back to the Columbus airport to pick up Monica Rawlins of the TBRC. We headed back to the lodge, got her settled in, then headed out to our senior citizens dinner (it was only 3pm) at Theo's with Marc Dewirth of the Ohio Bigfoot Researchers, Mike Esordi and Diana Smith of The Believe It Tour and 2 other gentlemen whose name I did not catch.

We hurried back to the lodge to get ready for the Meet and Greet.

This year, Don changed the format a little and the people were not as receptive. We went downstairs for the Meet and Greet and everyone was sitting in a conference room listening to Don speaking. Hey! We don't want to hear this! We want to Meet and Greet! Finally, Don released the hostages (just kidding) and the party started.

Mark and Kelly Lydic were there. Bob Durdella. My new Kentucky friends, Rex and his friend, James "Sparky" Sparks. Melissa Hovey, Wayne Larsen, Bruce Harrington, Eric Altman, Sean Forker and many more.

I was standing in the lobby when I saw who I thought was Diane Stocking coming towards me. I got a great big smile on my face and said "Hey" and she said..."No, I know what you're thinking..." then I realized it was her twin sister Donna from Florida. We laughed and chatted for a bit.

Of course Bob Gimlin and Tom Yamarone were there and they were introduced and greeted by people all night long.

At one point I was standing in a group of people and I turned around and there was Esteban Sarmiento standing behind me! That was such a surprise! We hugged and I promised him I would not give him a hard time at this conference. We had such a great time at the Texas Conference back in September.

As the evening progressed, a huge bonfire was prepared for the musical stylings of Tom Yamarone. Marshmallows were roasted, songs were sung and a great time was had by all.

To be continued indeedy!

Possible Tracks Found In Texas

The Texas Cryptic Hunter has a very nice blog if you want to check it out: Texas Cryptid Hunter

Mike Mayes of the TBRC is the owner of the blog, and has some promising evidence of a Bigfoot track that he discovered during a scouting mission for the TBRC to find new locations for the Operation Forest Vigil camera set-up.

Possible Sasquatch Tracks Located in SE Texas

I just returned from a trip to the Piney Woods of SE Texas. The purpose of the trip was two-fold. First and foremost I was looking for potential camera locations for the TBRC's Operation Forest Vigil project. The secondary purpose, as always, was to look for any sign of our target species; the sasquatch. What a trip it turned out to be...read the rest here

Ohio Bigfoot Pre-Conference Discussion-Message from Mike Esordi

Start Time:
Friday, May 14, 2010 at 8:00pm
End Time:
Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 11:30pm
Location:
Salt Fork State Park

It’s probably safe to say that, like us, a lot of you go to the Bigfoot conferences to see old friends, make new ones, and enjoy the camaraderie. In order to make full use of the time during the event filled weekend of the Ohio Bigfoot Conference at Salt Fork State Park, we’d like to invite anyone attending to join us Friday evening, May 14th, after the meal for a pre-conference discussion at the lodge.

Gather together with visitors traveling in from all over the United States to share stories and exchange ideas on how to improve Bigfoot research. The internet is convenient for exchanging thoughts and sharing experiences, but there’s nothing like good old fashioned face-to-face communication when it comes to brainstorming.

The event’s casual approach and open sharing is what will encourage some of the best ideas to surface. Just ask Mike Esordi or Craig Woolheater, who always try to break their record at each event with how late they can stay up talking about future events and improvements for cryptozoology projects. One example of this is Champ Camp 2010. Okay, it’s a shameless plug for an event, but it’s an example of something that was inspired during a brainstorming session at a Bigfoot conference.
So join in on the open discussion and enjoy what promises to be an exciting evening with a diverse group of enthusiasts, researchers, and authorities on Bigfoot.

New film needs beast of a man to be the next yowie

* Samantha Healy
* May 02, 2010 12:01AM

A QUEENSLAND film student has launched a search for a man to play the yowie in a movie about the mystical ape-like creature rumoured to roam the Australian bush.

The casting call for the short film, called The Yowie, states the successful applicant should be tall, powerful, hairy, physical, a "Bigfoot" and aged between 25 and 55.

Perhaps our very own hairy Hollywood star Russell Crowe could take a paycut and step in to the role, or un-manscaped local talent such as Titans prop Brad Meyers or Wolfmother guitarist Andrew Stockdale.

Griffith University film student Col Bayford, 23, said the script was inspired by sasquatch stories in his native Canada and adapted to tell the tale of the Australian yowie.

"We've had over 80 applications for the role so far but the ideal candidate would be tall, hairy, rugged guy," Mr Bayford said.

"Creating that humanoid look is important to us because we want people to think it could be a guy in a monkey suit but he just doesn't look quite right."

The film is based on two main characters, couple James and Vivian, who are spending a weekend camping when a mysterious figure appears in the bush.

The plot follows the couple as they battle to survive the night.

Mr Bayford said the film - which was funded by students - was "more thriller than horror".

But while the film is fictional, Australian Yowie Research founder Dean Harrison is convinced real-life yowies are out there.

"When you have done the research we have and seen what we've seen, interviewed the countless witnesses, taken plaster casts of footprints, you have to believe," Mr Harrison said.

"And there are photos and footage but that's all I can say and I can't say any more but they are very real," he said.

According to AYR, almost 10,000 sightings have been reported around the nation, the majority on the east coast, including bushland areas around Brisbane.

Similar to the North American Bigfoot and Himalayan Yeti, AYR believes two kinds of yowie live in Australia - a larger yowie which stands between 1.8 and 3 metres tall and a smaller version that stands between 1.2 and 1.5 metres, fully grown.

But is budding film director Mr Bayford a believer?

"I am a firm believer in science and evolution so I keep an open mind about these things," he said.

The Yowie begins filming at Murwillumbah in June.

Interesting facts about yowies in Australia

* There have been almost 10,000 reported sightings of yowies across Australia.

* The name 'yowie' is believed to be an adaptation of Aboriginal names 'yuuri' and 'yowri' which were two commonly used words to describe the creature, particularly in NSW

* Yowies are believed to be similar to the equally mysterious ape-like creatures known as bigfoot (in the US), sasquatch (Canada), yeti (China) and chuchuna (Russia).

* The largest populations of yowies are believed to be in the remote mountain ranges of southeast Australia.

* Yowies have thick, dark skin on the face, with deep skin folds and a flattened, wide nose. They often have a strong odour. They are powerfully built with broad shoulders, a small neck and muscular legs, similar to an ape.

* Yowies have some serious body hair and walk upright.

Reported yowie sightings in Queensland

July 2009 - Rockhampton:
A driver, who had pulled off to the side of a road, reported seeing a a very tall, grey-haired creature with similar body features to a human standing on two limbs. The creature ran extremely fast and dove into scrub.

September 2002 - Beerwah:
A horticulturalist, name withheld, was in the Beerwah State Forest off Roy's Rd when he heard a high-pitched scream. He turned around and saw a ``black furry thing about waist-height'' which ``got taller, almost to my height''.

August 2001 - Laidley:
Mrs Crouten (first name withheld) was driving north towards Laidley Creek when a creature appeared on the right side of the road. It was walking on ``all fours'', was covered in dark hair and looked like a large version of an orangutan. Simlar sightings have been reported over the years.

Mid-2001 - Mount Tamborine:
A jogger was running along a road when he saw ``this big dark form''. As it turned to its side, he realized it was mobile, on two legs, and 2.13m-2.43m (7ft-8ft) tall.

1999 - Ormeau:
Jason C spotted something moving in bushland while clearing trees for a house construction. He recalls seeing an ``ugly thing'' sitting crouched in the bushes and decsribed it as an ``ugly human'' with dark brown hair body hair, a flat nose, a large head, about 2.74m (9ft) tall, long arms and solid. It ran in a side to side motion.

1977 - Springbrook:
Former Queensland National Party senator Bill O'Chee reported that he came face-to-face with a yowie while he was a young boy on a school camp. He said he was with a group of 20 fellow TSS students when they saw what they described as a 3m tall, hair-covered creature. It had a flat face and walked to the side in a crab-like style.

Searching for Sasquatch here in South Texas

Searching for Sasquatch here in South Texas
Reported by: Delaine Mathieu
Email: DelaineMathieu@woaitv.com

LEAKEY, Texas - Last fall, after several people called police saying they saw something that looked like Bigfoot on the Northwest side of San Antonio, we were contacted by a group of men who call themselves Bigfoot investigators. They said they're convinced that Sasquatch is here and probably always has been. So, our Delaine Mathieu said -- prove it!

Last December, a homeless couple in San Antonio called 911 saying they saw something in the woods off Highway 151 and Culebra. "I would be a liar if I said I thought I knew what it was, but I don't know. I know it picked up that deer and walked," reported the caller. Police checked it out, but nothing was ever found.

Troy Hudson believes Bigfoot is here. He used to work for the Department of Homeland Security and now runs TBIG -- The Bigfoot Investigation group in Dallas. "I've been in the woods a lot as a child and I've seen things I can't explain to you," Hudson told us.

We set up camp with him and his colleague, Chase Robinson at Garner State Park in Uvalde County near Leakey -- where a man in a truck reportedly saw a Bigfoot on Highway 83 in 2006. "It was in December, early December around 10:30pm," Hudson said. "He was messing with something and he happens to look up and notices movement." He says the creature ran across the highway and disappeared.

"But that sounds crazy!" Delaine told Hudson. "That sounds almost ridiculous, right?" Hudson told her there are too many witnesses, too many reports across the country, too much documentation, too much data that suggests what are these people seeing?

Crazy is a word Troy and Chase say they hear a lot in their line of work, but there are several Bigfoot investigative groups in Texas like TBIG -- determined to find Bigfoot. "If people in Vermont are reporting a tree knock and a whoop as well as someone in California, Florida, Utah, Oklahoma, Texas -- it only leads you to believe that there's something out there."

And to the unbelievers out there who call these guys nuts? They say, just go on an expedition. "Try it. Before you condemn us, go out and try it," Chase told us. "See what they see and listen to the sounds of the night."

Man Saves Drowning Bigfoot

Bigfoot saved from drowning in icy Siberian river

29 April, 2010, 13:51

A Russian hunter claims he has saved something that can only be described as Bigfoot from a frozen river in central Siberia.

Russian news agency Itar-Tass quoted a source in the administration of the Tashtagol district of the Perm Region as saying that the incident took place in April this year near the village of Senzaskiye Kichi. The village is located 140 kilometers away from the nearest human settlement and the only connection with its residents is by helicopter. The latest flight to the village brought back a written report about the encounter with the so-called Bigfoot.

The letter read that professional hunter Afanasiy Kiskorov together with several other hunters was fishing when they heard a loud cracking of ice and a howl. When they approached the source of the noise, the hunters saw an unusual creature described as “like a huge man covered in dark brown fur.” The creature was in the river, about 10 meters from the bank and it unsuccessfully tried to get out of the water and stand upright.

Kiskorov rushed to the rescue and reached out for the drowning creature with a dry tree branch. “Bigfoot” then grabbed the branch, got onto shore, and walked away.

Authorities in the Kemerovo Region have repeatedly released stories of Bigfoot sightings over the past few years. According to them, those interested in cryptozoology could help to develop the Siberian tourism industry.

Congratulations Mike Rugg!

Congrats to my friend Mike Rugg, curator, Director and proprietor of The Bigfoot Discovery Museum for being selected by Guyism.com as one of the top ten coolest roadside attractions in America.

Guyism.com is a website designed by men for men and this is what they have to say about The Bigfoot Discovery Museum:
Bigfoot Discovery Museum – Felton, California
Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti whatever you want to call it, this mythical creature has been the star of countless blurry photographs and home movies. What better way to get all the… err facts? …about this giant ape than from the experts. The museum houses all kinds of odd Bigfoot artifacts from photos and movies to plaster casts and a guide on “How to Spot a Hoax.” Hours and days of operations may vary, after all these “scientists” do have a giant ape to capture.

Keep up the good work Mike!

Another Report From Pennsylvania

Stan Gordon of The Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society reports that a family in southern Westmoreland county reported hearing loud screams, growls, grunts and whooping sounds of a large animal moving around on their rural property. This took place night April 24th at 8:00 pm and again that morning at 3:00 am. Familiar with local wildlife, they report they never heard anything like it before.
If you look closely at the Pennsylvania map, you will see that Westmoreland county is just north of Fayette county.

Eric adds: Incidentally this took place about 7 miles to the north east of where the sighting report I recieved on Friday April 23rd at 3:00 am took place. Could it be the same creature? Sightings in Fayette County in 2009 and 2010 have been heavily reported and now moving into southern Westmoreland county now?

I have asked Eric if he feels the sightings are of the same creature, or if he feels there are more than one creature roaming the woods of southwestern Pennsylvania.

So far, no one knows anything for sure.

I really believe with all of the reports submitted within the past year, that there is something going on here.

Bigfoot Has Arrived!

Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

In the past year there have been numerous sightings and reports coming out of this small area in western Pennsylvania. Too many to ignore.

The BFRO has reports dating from 1974 and the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society has been actively investigating reports from as recently as this past Friday night.

Eric Altman, the Director of The PA Bigfoot Society reports the following:

On April 22, 2010 at 3:00 am a man was awoke to the sound of his dogs barking outside. He also heard a woman screaming. He thought his neighbor was beating his wife. He looked out his bedroom window and saw what he thought was a large but skinny dog walking around in his yard. The creature stood up on two legs and walked into the woods behind his house and into an open farmers field. He described the creatures as skinny covered in black hair and could see the arms swing as it walked.

This is just the most recent report coming from this area. Eric has been keeping very busy with his investigations and has organized and outing to be held in western Pennsylvania at the end of April.

It is exciting to us who believe that these creatures do exist, mostly because the sightings and reports are coming from citizens who have never given a second thought about the viability of such a creature, and the events occur without warning or active pursuit. They weren't looking for a Bigfoot. They were simply going about their normal routine when Bigfoot found them!

More updates as they become available. Happy Squatching!

Squatching Season on the East Coast

Squatching season is upon us!

Billy Willard and his gang are in the field as we speak! I hope the weather is warmer in Virginia than it has been here. I did not get a chance to listen to his live radio show, but I will listen to the archived show today.
Listen here

The official kick off to Squatching season begins on May 14th at the Ohio Bigfoot Conference. The Meet and Greet is on Friday the 14th and the Conference is Saturday May 15th.

Last year Don greeted over 450 guests and I believe that this year he will easily top 500.

We admit we aren't there to see Don, but he sure does throw a great party! ;)

I'm pretty sure there it will be standing room only on Saturday so get there early if you plan on getting a seat.

Monica and Melissa will be broadcasting live from the event with their internet radio show, The Grey Area. Be sure to tune in because there is nothing as fun as a live radio show, on location.

Bob Saget's Strange Days

Several of my west coast buddies were recently involved with the filming of a new show starring Bob Saget of Full House fame.

I'm sure their expertise was put to good use! What an ensemble of Bigfoot researchers! In attendance were James "Bobo" Fay, Cliff Barackman, Tom Yamarone, Bart Cutino, Paul Graves, Michael Rugg and many more!

I'm excited to see the finished project!

TV star Saget learns about Bigfoot on Peninsula; stays at George Washington Inn during taping

By Diane Urbani de la Paz
Peninsula Daily News

AGNEW -- A Sasquatch scholar, a bald eagle and a television star gathered here on Sunday for a quick visit to one elegant house at 939 Finn Hall Road.

The background: Bob Saget, formerly of "America's Funniest Home Videos" and "Full House," is cooking up a new show for the A&E cable network.

"Bob Saget's Strange Days" delves into weird, wild stuff: biker gangs, partying Amish teenagers, mail-order brides, a survivalist cult -- and, of course, Bigfoot.

So out Saget came to the North Olympic Peninsula to peek at the West End woods and interview John Bindernagel, author of two books about the hairy creature supposedly living in the deep forest.

And since Saget wanted a nice spot to meet Bindernagel -- who came down from Courtenay, British Columbia -- he and his entourage found the George Washington Inn, a replica of the first U.S. president's estate in Mount Vernon, Va.

"He needed a location that looked a bit formal," said Janet Abbott, who with her husband, Dan, owns and operates the inn.

Videotaped at inn

Saget and a team of about 14 camera operators and producers spent about an hour at the George Washington on Sunday, videotaping a segment for "Strange Days," Abbott said.

There's nothing strange or spooky about the inn, to her mind. It's the great room that attracted Saget and company, with its stately atmosphere.

Then it just so happened that a resident bald eagle landed in a nearby tree and stayed long enough for Saget to have a good look at the symbol of America.

"We have eagles out here all the time," Abbott said.

They fit well, considering the George Washington Inn is the far-northwest counterpart to the founding father's house.

Built from 2006 to 2008, the bed-and-breakfast is faithful to the exact dimensions and exterior colors of Mount Vernon; it faces the Strait of Juan de Fuca as Washington's home overlooks the Potomac River.

A friend in Seattle tipped off Saget's producers about the George Washington Inn, Abbott said, and they phoned about five days before driving onto the Peninsula last Friday.

Sunday was Saget's last day here, and he was in a rush to catch a plane at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, added Abbott, so she got busy printing out a map for him.

"We heard a lot of nice comments," while the crew walked around the inn, she added, "and somebody said, 'We'll be back.'"

Late summer or early fall

The Sasquatch episode of "Bob Saget's Strange Days" will air in late summer or early fall, the producers told Abbott.

Meantime, Bindernagel -- the self-described "token scientist" in the show -- said he'll have another Bigfoot book out by June.

A followup to his North America's Great Ape: The Sasquatch, this second volume is titled The Discovery of the Sasquatch.

It will be available from Beachcomber Books, which is in the process of constructing a Web site at www.Beach comberBooks.com

Bigfoot Wanders onto College Campus! (Comedy)

Bigfoot Explores Campus

By Kelsy Reynoldson

Published: Monday, April 5, 2010

On Sat., Mar. 27, the ape-like creature known as ‘Bigfoot’ or ‘Sasquatch’ was reportedly seen rampaging Nebraska Wesleyan University’s campus at 6:34 p.m.

Witnesses say that the hairy creature was about 6’7” with long, mangy reddish-brown hair and looked as though he or she was hungry. It entered campus through the Townhouse Village and started scavenging through trash barrels.

“It makes sense that the notorious missing link came to visit Nebraska Wesleyan,” said young Bindi Irwin (daughter of late Steve Irwin), who came for a secretive visit to NWU to see the evidence of the creature.

“Because of the harsh winter that much of the northern United States has had, Bigfoot has probably wandered down from the mountains and made his way here, trying to escape from a depleted food source,” said Irwin.

It was reported that Bigfoot found the dumpsters behind the Student Center but found the food inside them to be inedible.

Ancient Seletal Remains Shed New Light On Evolution

(CNN) -- Scientists may have discovered a new branch on your family tree.

A team of researchers working in South Africa has unearthed what they believe are the remains of a previously unknown species predating modern humans. They recently discovered a couple of partial skeletons -- an adult female and a juvenile male -- that are nearly 2 million years old.

Tara Hauki

Being on Facebook can connect you with so many people you would never have come across before the invention of the internet.

One such person is Tara Lee Hauki from Happy Camp, California. Tara has a keen interest in Bigfoot creatures and has allowed me to share one of her stories with you.

The following was sent to me and I am printing it here without any editions or commentary.

Enjoy!

My Story (by Tara Hauki)

The war was starting and I had a moment of instinct, pure and undiluted. 9-11 had happened and the ticker tape under the news casts was a new feature. I noticed it because I was paying a lot of attention to the T.V. set in those days. I think I would be right to say we all did.
Along with the strong pervasive telepathy I felt as those days droned on I began to see familliar phrases run across the screen. Conceptual pictures of what was occuring began to form in my mind and that's when I went and got my bible.
There were correlations between the books of Matthew and Revelations, and old stories from the history of Israel and the middle east that I noticed between watching the screen and flipping through my dad's bible. That and the fact that I had just suffered a great family trajedy, made up my mind and I wanted to leave the world.

All of it!

So, on the morning of May 5, 2003 I sat in my truck and I said, "I'm going to go live with "Sasquatch".

And then I did.

I spent six months living in the Marble Mountains and there abouts. I traveled all around South Western Oregon and North Western California. Those days were the best of my life and many of my adventures had paranormal aspects I would like to write about some day. Not a few of the people I met led me on to where I was unknowingly at the time, meant to live. Looking back is so easy now.

I moved into the trailer and property I live at now in September of 2003 and it has gotten very interesting.

First of all, I had no idea that the area I moved to is one of the prime areas for Bigfoot sightings in the world. I only knew the things about Bigfoot the people of my generation learned in Jr. High.

I did not know the famous Patterson Gimlin picture was taken near where I moved to, or that I actually camped right above there that summer.

So here I was.

The first morning in my new home I awoke to my father in his high school prom suit standing in my bedroom door staring at me. He gave me quite a shock because he had passed away in 2002. There he was and I might not have believed it today except my boyfriend also saw him.

Around a year and a half later, I was doing some faux painting in my bathroom that went unfinished, or so I thought, until 2006 when I glanced at it in the shower one day and realized it was a mural that tells the story of two or more legends from long ago, all connected together. It is fascinating and mind blowing in it's implications, but it's just my painting, so to speak. It starts at the left as a large woman with a baby in her abdomen on her right side. One of her feet are attached to what looks like a giant buffalo and between her and the buffalo there is a tornado, or storm. Connected to the right of the buffalo is a bride/nun/long haired woman pulsing a beam up and out to the right and connected to the bride/nun/long haired woman, under her side, is a bear. They all stand on what looks like a bird or a toad.

Then, on July 13, 2005 I awoke very early and went to walk out of my slider into the yard and that is when I saw what I thought was the biggest bear in the world. It wasn't until it turned to run away that I saw long arms and very long legs. I realized I was looking at a Bigfoot.

The story about the Bigfoot got out and some big time "researchers" showed up and set up night vision cameras in my yard that hooked up to an internet connection called Insync. Because of this I had monitors in my house that showed two areas of yard on them.

At night I would watch the cameras sweep back and forth across an area where a spring comes out from beneath a tree. I would see a sudden bright white flash and then as the flash would fade I could see blue foot prints on the path by the spring. They would fade gradually with the prints closest to the tree fading first as if they were traveling away from the spring, and then another flash and more foot prints, and so on. I noticed those things on more than one night. The Bigfoot was never recorded although I did see it three times in those six months.

In January of 2006 I had been having horrible stomach pains so I went to have an upper G.I. In the nearest city. I had to stay for the week end so that I could catch the bus home on Monday.

While I was there, I met two very beautiful and extremely odd people. I skipped up to them, and said hello in my typically sunny attitude. We began sharing pleasantries and I mentioned the word Abba because that's a word I use to call God a lot. It means basically "daddy", and the man suddenly became very interested in me. He said that I was the only other person he had ever known to use that word.

His wife said she was looking for her mother and that she had lived on the Klamath River, and when I told them where I lived, she said that was where they were looking for. I invited them to stay while they looked for her mother.

They came and stayed a week. I want to note that they had wavy blonde hair and the bluest eyes I have ever seen. Looking at them was like looking into water. They used words like EL and YAH when they talked of God. He wore a rabbit skin coat he would only tell me he had been given it by his father as a gift. They mentioned one day that I should read Revelations 12.

I had a waking dream/vision the first morning I got back from the upper G.I. and my guests were here. I saw a series of snapshot looking photographs that came before my eyes in rapid succession. The first was a ladder in the sky. The second, a pair of locust legs in the sand. Third, A row boat coming in from the top of the shot. All you can see looking at it is the front tip of the boat, a red boat, coming in toward shore and you can see a pair of legs wearing tennis shoes. In the fourth there is a blonde man, the stranger who came and visited, kneeling on a rock at the edge of a lake. He is golden or bronzed looking even though he is clothed. The fifth snap shot was of a distant slightly rounded hill with three dark trees growing equal distant from each other. As I watched the sun comes up from behind them, up into the sky until the sky goes brilliant. The trees leaves have a golden cast to them.

As the sky turns white in the light I see a dark cloud form in the right lower corner of the snap shot. A Bright star comes out of the cloud moving skyward and then the snap shot is replaced by the sixth frame. In a long shaped snap shot I see a bright star in a black sky covered with red and white lightning, fall to the earth and plow into it.

Then there were no more snap shots and I was standing on a dirt road looking ahead of me at a huge loud of dust coming towards me. At first I sense elephants and dinosaurs in it but then I see a buffalo coming out of the dust towards me and I realize it is buffalos and emus, and then all animals, and then all races of people. And then I woke up. About six months later I saw as I was laying down to sleep, a snap shot with one dark tree on a hill.

When I woke up that morning, my actual eyesight was in black and white. Everything was to me for three days. For the first few days after that morning, food tasted 'new'. Like I had never tasted it before. It was also at this time that my two strange visitors told me I had a new name and it was 'Arise'. I thought that was strange.

The first night while we were outside looking at the stars, I noticed a funny popcorn like cloud and said I thought it was going to turn into a picture. As we stood looking up we saw it turn into a woman with long hair standing with a wolf at her side. I had long hair at the time and three months previously had been given a white wolf.

A few nights before they left I felt the urge to go walk up into the grave yard across the road from my house. I walked through the snow up into the trees and stopped at a family plot surrounded by a white picket fence near the far back gate. I stood next to a grave stone there and a couple of things happened at once. I felt the people in the graves as if they were only sleeping. At that moment the scriptures of the ones trapped beneath the stairs came to me and I heard a voice say tell them they are free to leave.

I started to pray and all I can say is that I felt a feeling of great release ... And then I awoke, laying in the snow.

I got up and walked out of the grave yard. I walked across the road to my driveway and saw my boyfriend standing at the edge of my driveway and his eyes were as big around as saucers. He told me that he had just gotten home and as he walked by the cemetery he had seen people standing in there. He said they were just standing there on the other side of the fence.

Before the two strange people left the man told me that he was hiding from the government because earlier that summer he had gone to the millitary and told them that if they didn't shut off the HAARP system, God was going to show them "he" was in control of the weather. The stranger left the pentagon and three days later Katrina hit New Orleans. He said the government was trying to find him and that is why they were on the road.

They left and soon after, I started noticing things. Whatever I did during the day would 'repeat' in one form of media or another. Mostly books, but also in movies and such. I seem to be five minutes ahead of myself. As if time around me flows in the opposite direction. I don't know, but it happens all the time.

It happens a lot, but the most notable example was one day when I was so freaked out and stressed over the last few years experiences that I called the sherrif.

I stood in my driveway and told him about the Bigfoot, my graveyard experience, and about the mural in my bathroom. He sympathized with me and I felt a little bit better. A few hours later I went to the library and bought a ten cent novel by Dean Koontz from the used book box. I went home and sat in a warm bath reading my new novel and in one paragraph read something to the tune of ... "It was as if I'de seen a Bigfoot, or a ghost in a graveyard, or a water stain of the Virgin and child and coming apocalypse."

I really freaked out on that one, but those things happen so much I barely get scared anymore.

It was right around then that I started seeing my birthday everywhere. May 20. EVERYWHERE, like in Evan Almighty, so I googled it. (incidentally, I did not see Evan Almighty until just a few months ago and I haven't watched it all yet. Too freaked out.)

There is a prophecy I would like to explain concerning this. On May 20, 2012 there is going to be an eclipse as far as I have found on the NASA website. An annular eclipse. On that day our solar system will line up with Pleiades. This apparently will cause our Milky Way to twist on itself creating an eternity symbol shape. The eclipse will cause on that day and the next, May 21, a shadow to slowly descend the temples in Mexico and Central America, from what I've read. These events fullfil a prophecy called "The Rattlesnake Constellation Prophecy". It is a romanticized star calendar from the Cherokees long ago that has startling accuracy in it's predictions. May 20 is also mentioned in the Mayan calendar and prophecies.

I'm Cherokee and I will be fifty on that day. The prophecy states that our Milky Way will 'bloom' or 'feather' out in the years 2004 and 2012. I had the best birthday of my life in 2004 with a beautiful thunder and rain storm, and I am expecting an even better one in 2012. Maybe the war will be over by then and I'll have a very good reason to celebrate. Let's hope.

Something I have only just learned is that the Cherokees and the Israelis have very similar aspects in their cultures. I think it's cool because the number of fifty years to the Israelis means "jubilee".

I love God with my whole heart and I can say that aside from a few strong inklings, no pun intended, I have no idea what is going on here. Every day I notice more, and every day I get confirmations of what I just did, but where all of this is leading? Who knows. It's a winding path, I know.

Well, that's the abridged version of my experiences so far. I write this for information, and for interest. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Some Nice Words for Southern Fried Bigfoot

Spring is Here!

I can't begin to tell you how beautiful the weather was Saturday!
Bob (Lowrider) invited me to go Squatching and I was there!

I admit I am a fair weather Squatcher! After camping in WVA last year with Rick, Nick and Larry in March, I decided maybe I didn't need to show everybody how tough I was camping out in 30 degree weather!

Bob is still, in my opinion, the BEST squatcher in Ohio! He had already baited the area before I arrived so I did a 3/4 mile hike on the trail and met him back at the car. He then asked me if I wanted to go on an extended hike and I was more than happy to. The temps were in the upper 70's, there was a nice breeze...you could smell the earth awakening and releasing itself from winter's cruel grasp.

We headed southwest at first and found an area that was littered with abandoned deer stands. Our first sighting was that of a 4.5 foot long black rat snake. He let us take his picture and we stayed out of his way. We then saw what could be a small cave under the creek so we decided to hike down the ravine. Man were we ambitious. At one point we had to cross a small creek (2 feet across) and I found what appeared to be a large footprint (16 inches) heel impression, visible toes, leaves smashed to the side...possible...Bob will be posting the pics.

We then headed back north and then crossed Mill Creek and hiked to the Grand River. We traveled up river and found an area littered with clams and snail shells...hundreds of them! We saw beaver tracks, and an eviscerated turkey carcass.

After 4.5 hours we headed back to our vehicles. I felt like I had just competed in a marathon!

Oh the best part was when we were crossing another part of the creek and I went to step up the bank and slid face first into the mud! I laughed so hard and it felt great to get dirty like a little kid and not have a care in the world!

Weather permitting, I will be joining Bob and another squatcher this Saturday to hike in the area of a sighting from 1986 in Paine's Falls.

The Creature by Jan Klement

I read the book The Creature by Jan Klement this weekend. It only took about an hour to read, and I am sure many of you have read the book.

This story is a first hand account of a semi habituation of a bigfoot creature.

The author, Jan Klement (pseudonym), claims to be a professor at a university in southwestern Pennsylvania.

The story was fascinating, yet unbelievable at some points. The author also does not hide the fact that he is an alcoholic and has serious mental health issues. I'd bet that his ex-wife would agree with me on that.

I was giving the author the benefit of the doubt up until the part where he shoved the creature into the back of his station wagon and drove him 200 miles away, to protect him from hunters during deer season.

I did appreciate that he and the creature, who he named "Kong", would simply stare at each other for hours and that Kong seemed unaffected by things in the universe that trouble humans. As if the bigfoot was in nature much like the trees and the grass; just being.

I can't believe that as a scientist, he would not take Kong's dead body to a university to be "dissected", but that he would drive the dead body to a remote location and hack up his "best friend" with an axe. But then again, he is an alcoholic with obvious mental problems. (Sociopath?)

I did come away with a new perspective on bigfoot culture and I do believe that at least some of the incidents in the book are believable.

Last August, I got to visit with Autumn Williams and we had a great conversation on our way to the store. The experience that Jan Klement describes in his book, mirrors some events that Autumn has experienced herself.

It is becoming abundantly clear to me that when we "researchers" plan and attend our bigfoot hunting "expeditions", we aren't going to find squat.

These creatures have existed since the beginning of time and will be here on this planet long after we are gone.

We aren't trying to prove their existence to "protect them". That's a load of crap. They have always gotten along fine without our protection, and they always will.

I live in the suburbs and I can't hope that my weekend sorties will get me a glimpse of a creature, and I sure as heck know I am not going to have an ongoing "habituation situation" that I can experience first hand.

My only wish is that if someone is privileged to be in regular contact with one of these creatures, that they would share it with us on a factual, scientific level. If you present your information in book form, people will tear it apart and label it fiction.

I have often hypothesized that my interest in seeing a bigfoot creature is due to a mid-life crisis. I am in my 40's and perhaps the idea of seeing a bigfoot is the equivalent of looking for something that is missing from my life...something larger than life...the unknown. To me this could be the difference between those who have actually seen a bigfoot, and those who tramp through the forests every weekend hoping to catch a glimpse of one.

There are those who know without a doubt that the creature exists, and those who can only hope and fantasize that someday, they will be fortunate enough to find out for themselves.

Update to Gable Film Footage

Kudos to the brilliant film maker who created the Gable Film! For over 2 years I was impressed with that film!

What is most impressing is how the creator of the film was wearing a ghillie suit and HE was the actual creature bounding across the field! What a feat!

I sure hope he has future films in the works BUT that he doesn't try to hoax anyone again! :)

Final MonsterQuest Episode

Ok, Ok, so everybody else is blogging about the last MQ episode, so I figured I'd jump in as well.

I remember when I first saw the Gable film. It sure did give me goosebumps! I'm sure many of you have watched the film in slow motion, and analyzed every angle of the film.

Here is the entire footage of the Gable film clip...it shows every day life back in the 70's.

I just found this second video on youtube and I sure hope it is a hoax!

I hope that the MonsterQuest gang will give us some conclusive answers, however, I imagine this will remain one of Cryptozoology's unsolved mysteries....
