Matt Moneymaker Confronts Critics

Posted by Loren Coleman on Cryptomundo-
Matt Moneymaker has addressed issues and content raised in recent postings here tied to his new program, “Finding Bigfoot.”
Here they are, unedited.
First, Moneymaker responses to the story that the Georgia police dashcam video is due to a teen hoaxer in a gorilla suit (“Georgia Dash Cam Footage a Hoax?“):
The comments by Jarrard were not true, as we discovered while we were there. He wouldn’t take questions from us when we tried to nail down his story.
No one from the sheriff’s department went out to speak with any of the neighbors after the incident … We spoke with the neighbors though when we were shooting the episode. There was never any college students living in the area, and there was no photo of college kids with a gorilla costume. Jarrard story sounded unlikely from the beginning, and apparently it didn’t happen.
None of the other sheriffs had heard about this story that Jarrard told to a reporter. It seems he came up with the story to quel any fear that local people might have about a monster in the woods, and to prevent hunters from going to look for one.
and
There was no other show that aired the dashcam footage. Finding Bigfoot was the first program to air the footage. Lotsa false nonsense coming up on this site today, but anonymous people claiming things they kinda sorta recall but can’t quite put their finger on it.
Next, Moneymaker replies to the “wood knock” and “call blasting” claims of who did it first:
That’s pretty weak … a book published in 1993 about a famous indian story teller. It doesn’t count. I had already been talking about that behavior for a year or more on the Internet (and debating with all the people who were saying I was crazy to suggest that) while that book was being assembled. I had been saying that bigfoots use knocks to locate eachother prior to 92, but all you have is the claim by a famous “story teller” in a 1993 book … that he knew they did that long ago. It doesn’t count.
Bill Dranginis is notorious for not telling the truth, and he was kicked out of the BFRO almost 15 years ago for exactly that reason. If he says he recalls an article describing someone else doing call-blasting before I did it … then he needs to produce that article. I kinda doubt it exists. Dranginis would not hesitate to make up something like that. Also, there were no recordings of sasquatches available in the 1980’s that could be used for that purpose. I got the first fairly clean recording that could that be used for sound blasting, and I got it in 1993.
Let’s see Titmus’ writings saying he did wood knocks back and forth with a sasquatch in BC … not just someone’s “recollection” of him talking about that.

Update on the Georgia Dashcam Video

As I stated a few months ago, the dashcam video was proved to be a teenager's prank!

Bigfoot ‘sighting' lures TV network

By Sharon Hall

Although it's not writ in stone, Animal Planet is making plans to visit Lumpkin and Union counties. They are stalking the legend of Bigfoot.

The Discovery Channel, which produces Animal Planet, called local resident Mary Scott, requesting an interview with her. Scott, as well as a Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office deputy with whom she was riding during a Citizens Law Enforcement Academy ride-along, reportedly saw a Bigfoot about a year-and-a-half ago and captured it on the dashboard cam.

Scott said they were out in the Frogtown area when the sighting occurred.

“We were going about 55 mph on a curvy road. It was really late-after midnight, I think. We hadn't passed any other cars, and this thing came out of nowhere,” Scott says. “The officer hit the brakes and we both jumped out. We looked on both sides of the road but didn't see anything, and we looked at each other kind-of like, ‘You saw that, didn't you? I saw that.'”

Realizing the event had been recorded by the patrol car's dash cam, Scott and the officer returned to the Sheriff's Office where they viewed the happening on a larger screen.

“We were both just shocked,” Scott says. “It was really tall, and it really looked like the pictures you've seen of Bigfoot.”

The film found it's way onto the Internet, and that's how the Discovery Channel tracked Scott down, she says.

“I told them it all happened in seconds. It just came and went,” she says.

The TV representative told Scott they are planning to visit the area in February and plan to camp out in the area where she and the deputy made the sighting.

They may change their minds, however, when they learn that Sheriff Stacy Jarrard claims to have proven the sighting to be a hoax. Jarrard said he went out the next day to question homeowners in the area. At the first house he stopped at, he says, there were two young men, students at North Georgia College & State University, who were “acting really nervous. You could see their hearts were beating really fast,” he says.

The two did not admit to the prank right away, but later in the week they copped to one of them donning a gorilla suit and running across the road in front of vehicles on the night in question. Jarrard says he even has a photograph of the two boys with the gorilla suit.

If Animal Planet does decide to not to visit Lumpkin, they will probably still most likely visit the North Georgia area.

“They sent us a letter requesting to film at Track Rock in Union County,” said John Campbell with the National Forest Ranger Station in Blairesville. “The area is an archeological site, and is purported to have the footprint on Bigfoot.”

Bigfoot in Spokane

KYLY.com~A Spokane woman out for a day hike along the Spokane river claims to have proof of the mysterious and elusive Bigfoot.
Samantha, who did not give her last name, and her friends were hiking at Downriver Park over the weekend when they captured Bigfoot by using their iPhone camera.Samantha posted a YouTube video of the creature a few days later.

In her post, Samantha said she didn't notice Bigfoot until she looked at her video when she got home. So, far more than 1,500 people have viewed the video online."Someone asked me in the comments section if I believed in Bigfoot before the video," wrote Samantha in an e-mail to KXLY."I have never given it much thought, but now I'm not so sure. Seem real enough to me," she said.

Towards the end of the video they show the object in slow-motion and  enhanced.  To me it looks like it is a big 'ol hoax,  The leg and rear area seem baggy like a costume.  Oh well...back to the drawing board!

A New Report of an Old Encounter

As told by Sean J.~
Saturday night I was at a longtime friends house as he was telling some other guests about a scary incident that happened to him when he was in high school.
I knew the story as I had heard it several times before and had always gotten a good laugh out of it...but this time he added a few details that he had never mentioned before.
It was sometime in the early '80's and he was with his girlfriend and another couple at a "makeout spot", the Old Stone Bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area. To give each the other couple privacy, he and his date decided to go for a walk down a closed road. The road went down a hill and into a valley. It was a moonlit night and visibility was not bad. As he and his date got about 1/2 mile from the car, they both saw "a large man suddenly sit up inside the treeline on the right", ahead of them. They both froze. "And the guy was big. His head was probably 4ft off the ground as he was sitting there. And then he got up, with a real creepy weird movement. He was tall." (*The following parts are what he never told me before*)"He had like real long arms, like down to his knees", as he told this part of the story he was motioning with his hands on his arms, to show the length. "And he started to walk towards us and stepped onto the road. And it stunk....really bad like something died. I grabbed my girls arm and said "Run!"...but apparently I didnt grab her arm. I got to the car and started pounding on the windows and screaming for them to let me in. I yelled that if they didnt open the doors I was gonna break the fucking window! Theres a guy out here in the woods!...and then I realized the girl wasnt there! Shit! I ran back down the road and she was STILL STANDING IN THE SAME PLACE! Frozen with fear!I dont know where the guy was and didnt even think to look. I just grabbed the girl and basically dragged her back up the road to the car and they opened the doors and I told them to get the hell outta here."
This guy knows nothing about bigfoot, doesnt care about bigfoot and had never mentioned the arm length or the smell before when he was telling the story, and would have no reason to lie. The only people there last night was myself and another couple.
I almost fell over when told these additional details.
By the way, he lives in Bedford.

Caught On Cam: Bigfoot In Colorado?

Is Bigfoot real? It’s a question that many have asked since the first sightings back in the 1800s when explorers began talking about an ape-like creature that walked like a man. Many scientists have brushed off reports that the creatures exists, and so far no real proof has been presented.

Daniel Masias hopes to be the one to prove Bigfoot’s exists. His fascination began in 1982 when he claimed to have seen two of the creatures near his Green Mountain Falls home one morning.

“In the winter, when there was snow, we noticed there were footprints. The prints didn't have shoes on them; they were just bare feet," he recalled. Masias described the creatures as hairy and less than 6 feet tall, but the footprints they left behind were not human-like. Masias said one creature has a foot span of about 12 inches, the other about 7 inches.”So, not really big, about average human size," he said. When asked why no one has seen these creatures or taken pictures with current technology, Masias said he thinks the creatures are coming through a wormhole, an intergalactic travel portal from one galaxy to another.Masias isn’t the only one to have claimed to have seen Bigfoot. Ken French, a ranger for the Pikes Peak District, remembers seeing a strange creature near Centennial Point, near the summit of the peak. “I saw a dark uniformed color individual walking on the snow, and I stopped my tour bus and ask for binoculars,” recalled French. He thinks the creature was about 1,000 yards away. "It was big and dark and it had a big gate, so it looked unusual to me.” French remembered that it walked like a person, but he felt it was odd at the time.

"It's not unusual to see people on a snow slope, usually on a ridge line walking, but you do see people up there occasionally, but it's usually a couple of people,” said French. After the numerous sightings on Pikes Peak, ranger put up a Bigfoot crossing sign to warn visitors of what they could be in store for when they drive up to the 14,110 foot summit.Masias is convinced he will get a picture of the creature, he thinks is Bigfoot. His motion-sensor camera already has snapped pictures that no one can explain, including one he said is an alien.

Dan believes this image captured on his motion sensitive camera is that of an alien type creature.

Recent Yowie Sighting

WHAT’S more than two metres (six foot) tall, solidly built and covered in shaggy hair?
If your answer was “that guy down at the local,” you’re probably right but it’s also a common description of a mythical Australian creature known as a yowie, a specimen of which has been reportedly spotted near Centenary Dr, north of Grafton.
A Hunter Valley man named Dean, who did not wish to be identified further, thinks he may have caught a glimpse of one of the creatures, a kind of an Australian version of Bigfoot, as he was driving along the section of road in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Dean, whose work sees him driving more than 5000km a week around NSW, was travelling south along the Pacific Hwy, north of Grafton just before 2.30am when he took the Centenary Dr bypass. Shortly after turning into the road he saw something that shook him to the core.
“I reached the top of the hill and I was coming around the sweeping corner to the right when I noticed something a lot larger than a kangaroo in the middle of the road – my headlights weren’t on it yet but it was a bright night and I saw what looked like a large person stooped over, with a big overcoat on,” Dean said.
“At the time I thought ‘you silly old thing, what are you doing in the middle of the road at this time of the morning’, but next thing I knew my headlights started to light it up and it took one giant step off the road, it went from standing up like a person to going down on all fours and then it disappeared into the scrub in about three bounds.”
Dean, who is used to night-driving and fatigue management, slowed down and was looking into the scrub for the creature and said he saw it silhouetted against the sky.
“It had an almost sort of a square, shaggy block head sitting straight on its shoulders – I’m a pretty big guy but it made me absolutely awe-struck how huge its body was – it had its arm up against a tree and it had about a foot of hair hanging from under its biceps.”
He estimated the creature to be at least two metres tall and covered in what looked like jet-black hair.
Dean said he had no idea what to think until he described the incident to colleagues later who said it was similar to yowie-sighting stories they’d heard in their travels.
Since then Dean said he had been researching … to rationally explain what he saw but has yet to find a satisfactory answer.
“Anybody who knows me knows I’m the ultimate realist but this was an awe-inspiring moment, it’s definitely made me a believer,” Dean said.
During his search for answers however, Dean came across the website of Australian yowie researcher, Paul Cropper who was very interested in his story.
Mr Cropper, who has also co-written a book on yowies, said Dean’s story wasn’t unusual.
“In our book we recorded around 350 reports going back to the late 1700s, early 1800s, but I imagine there’s a lot more than that which don’t ever reach the media – people have these experiences and then just keep it to themselves,” Mr Cropper said.
Theories abound as to what yowies could be, including an unknown species of ape or even an undiscovered close relative to homo sapiens, he said.
“One thing you can say with absolute certainty is that Aborigines and Europeans have been recording these things for a long time – the Aboriginal stories go back to the Dreamtime and the European stories go back to basically the first settlement … there’s just this consistent thread of stories up until Tuesday morning,” he said.
Anyone in the Clarence Valley who has had a similar experience can contact Mr Cropper, in confidence, via email on yowie99@gmail.comThe Daily Examiner

2nd Annual Oregon Sasquatch Symposium

The 2nd Annual Oregon Sasquatch Symposium will be held June 17-19th in the scenic McKenzie National Forest at Camp White Branch.

Accommodations include quaint, rustic cabins located smack dab in the middle of Sasquatch territory.

I have always said that the Ohio Conference was ideal because of it's location within Salt Fork State park, however, from the pictures I have seen of Camp White Branch, this would be a squatcher's paradise!

There is a main hall and an outdoor amphitheater for the presentations.  Hiking trails and gorgeous scenery is right outside of your cabin door!

I want to go!!!!!! :)

Toby Johnson and his crew put on a magnificent conference last year and I was highly impressed as it was his first!  At the first Oregon Symposium, Scott Nelson revealed his Sasquatch Phoentic Alphabet and Autumn Williams introduced us to Enoch.  What an amazing trip that was.
Tickets and t-shirts are now on sale and Toby has put together several reasonably priced packages.
Please do not miss this opportunity to connect with nature and fellow squatchers!

Yetis in Alaska

-Story taken from the Alaska Dispatch-
Driving up the Alcan Highway through Canada, there is a whole stretch of Canadian towns along the road touting their bigfoot-rich properties, a tourist draw for those who believe in the unsubsantiated animal. Alaska is well-known for its hulking wildlife -- bears, moose, caribou and sea lions are among the biggest draws -- but when it comes to the elusive bigfoot, there seems to be a dearth of sightings for a state so enveloped in the woods that play home to the legendary beast in other parts of the world. Maybe the Bigfoot's northern cousin, the yeti, is a more appropriate fit for Alaska, where half the state hangs above the Arctic Circle.
But recently, YouTube user putua76 posted a shaky video that purports to capture the unconfirmed creature on tape near Ketchikan, Alaska.

The person who filmed the images claims:

"I was on a logging road in Ketchikan hiking with my friend when I saw it! Boy did my heart start racing!! It was about 40 yards from the road! Not sure if it knew I was there or not, because the noise of flowing water from the stream. It seemed to travel fast! It made my hair stand up!! At one point you can see a whitish yellowish thing in it's hand! I believe it was skunk cabbage. Not sure, but it is in bloom.
You see it jump and after that point it just seems to disappear. There was a lot of brush and trees between it and I, I could not tell where it had gone. It was a scary sort of exciting feeling at the same time!! We went to search for tracks but the river bed where we thought it was walking was full of perfect skiping rocks, we found no prints! If there is a BigFoot, Sasquatch, or Kushtaka I swear I saw him!!"

According to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, this would be the first reported sighting of a bigfoot in Ketchikan, although there have been 21 previous sightings in Alaska, eight of which have occurred in Fairbanks or "Southeast Fairbanks."
As with all bigfoot video the creature is hard to see, hidden behind trees and partially or totally obscured, giving just enough evidence for the skeptics to dispute and just enough for the believers to support. So is there a bigfoot in Alaska? We'll leave that up to you.

Thermal Footage from the BFRO

Kirk B. (a BFRO investigator from Washington State) brought down his FLIR H-series handheld imager for the 2011 BFRO New Mexico expedition, at a remote hotspot in the mountains outside Los Alamos.
During the trip he recorded footage of what some BFRO members believe is a sasquatch watching the camp at night.

I've had to look at this a few times and to me, it is inconclusive, but I was not there and as most of you know, having the personal experience is half of the proof an individual needs to convince themselves of what they have experienced!

The 2011 New Mexico Expedition folks have agreed to answers question about the trip and the effort via the BFRO's public discussion forum, called the Blue Forum.  Feel free to ask questions there.

The BFRO continues to excel in the field of Bigfoot Research!

And, don't forget to tune into Animal Planet on June 5th at 9 pm for Finding Bigfoot.  James "Bobo" Fay, Cliff Barackman and Matt Moneymaker of the BFRO should be very entertaining to watch.  I know they had a great time filming the series and are excited to share their experiences with us!

More Shenanigans in Fayette county Pennsylvania

There is something in them thar woods and I'm sure the PBS will get to the bottom of it soon!

From WTAE.com in Pittsburgh...

A Fayette County man needed nearly 300 stitches to close a gash in his arm after he was attacked by an unknown animal Tuesday night.Wanda Knopsnider told WTAE Channel 4 Action News' Sheldon Ingram that noises were heard behind her camper in North Union Township, so her daughter's boyfriend, Adam Cravener, went to investigate.Cravener, 25, said he grabbed a baseball bat and went outside. When he found the animal, he said it bit him."It came out from right behind the camper," Cravener told Ingram. "It just happened so quick," he said.Cravener said it was too dark for him to get a good look at the animal. It was initially thought to be a bear attack but Cravener told Ingram he thought it would be difficult for a bear to fit in the space behind the camper."He didn't say what it was. He just said, 'It got me! It got me!'" Knopsnider said.Cravener need 294 stitches to close a 6-inch gash in his left forearm, Ingram reported. He spent the night at an area hospital but has since been released.Scott Tomlinson, the Game Commission's southwestern region supervisor, said their investigation shows nothing to substantiate that there was a bear in the area. They searched the area and talked to witnesses, none of whom saw a bear.

NOT BIGFOOT RELATED!

Future Squatchers of America

This morning I was the special guest of some very special children (name of school withheld) who are studying Cryptozoology and today their topic was Bigfoot.

It was such a thrill to discuss Bigfoot with them!  The class was an hour long and we used every minute!  I might not be an authority or expert on Bigfoot, but I did my part to generate interest in our big hairy friend!

Notes:
The Friday presentation and hikes will be suitable for all ages and are family friendly

Eyegotcha Creator William Dranginis

David Pierce of  Insidenova.com has got his eye on Bigfoot researcher William Dranginis.
William had his first Bigfoot sighting while out searching for Civil War relics.  As a Federal agent, he had his weapon on him, but did not feel compelled to fire upon the Bigfoot.

Since then he created his own organization, the Virginia Bigfoot Research Organization in hopes of finding others who had seen Bigfoot in the Virginia forests.

For several years now, Bill has been busy perfecting his Eyegotcha stealth camera system which will allow hunters and Bigfoot enthusiasts to observe the wilderness from inside a tree branch or rock.

I will have more information for you when the Eyegotcha System is available for public purchase.

Shady Neighbors

I met my fellow Clevelander, Thom Powell at the Oregon Symposium last year and we shared an interesting conversation on Bigfoot, the government and his research.  Thom is quirky, brilliant and charming and I can't wait to read his new book Shady Neighbors..

Shady Neighbors portrays a  'family who is threatened by imminent development of their rural landscape. At the same time, members of the family begin to notice other strange things occurring around them that seem to indicate that they have been somehow singled-out for some unknown purpose. While the family is trying to figure out how to use the unknown force, the unknown force is also figuring out how to use the family. Ultimately, an uneasy partnership forms as the forces of 'human energy' and 'a greater good' learn how to play on the same team. Baseball has long provided a metaphor for the struggles of our human condition.
As one can see from the unique cover art by Guy Edwards, the author has crafted the first fictional story in human history that humorously combines bigfoot and baseball. '

You can order your copy of Shady Neighbors by clicking here.

23rd Annual Bigfoot Conference

Every year Don Keating outdoes himself and this year is no exception!  This year it appears Don is adding a twist with  Demonologist and Paranormal Activity investigators

DATE... May 14th, 2011  TIME... 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

SCHEDULED SPEAKERS (subject to change without notice!)...

Dr. Esteban Sarmiento ... Dr. Esteban Sarmiento is a primatologist at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Sarmiento is one of the scientists who has fully examined the Skookum Cast, a casting of a partial body print that many believe is that of a Sasquatch
Sharonlee and Ron Morehead
Ron Morehead ... For more than 35 years Ron Morehead has been traveling to purported Bigfoot sites and interviewing people claiming encounters. Ron’s knowledge of the phenomenon has been fine tuned, having coupled years of many credible witnessed reports with his own experiences in the Sierra Mountains of California. Ron has been a guest on several radio programs, including the Art Bell show, and has been filmed by BBC, DISH Network and others.
Al Berry was an investigative reporter asked to visit the remote high Sierra camp and wrote his story, which Ron produced on CD in 1996, "The Bigfoot Recordings, Volume I." The 40 minute CD is narrated by Jonathan Frakes, of “Star Trek, The Next Generation.” In 2003, Ron introduced his story on CD, “The Bigfoot Recordings, Volume II."
The initial encounters began at the Sierra camp in 1971 and many subsequent events occurred in the years to follow. Most all Bigfoot reports of sounds or encounters are either a yell or a brief glimpse, hardly ever a series of events, especially with a communicative type effort on the part of these creatures. In 1978 the vocalizations were the subject of a year-long study by Dr. R. Lynn Kirlin, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Wyoming. His analysis was presented in a symposium in Vancouver, B.C., “Anthropology of the Unknown.”
A more recent year-long study was launched in 2008 by a Crypto-Linguist. Retired from Naval Intelligence, trained to crack codes, and currently teaching foreign languages, Scott Nelson deciphered a complex language in the Sierra Recordings.

Carl L. Johnson ... has been researching unorthodox subjects and investigating reports of unexplained activity for the past three decades, commencing when he was invited to join a research team under the auspices of Rhode Island College, and in association with various colleagues such as the renowned ghost hunting couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. Specializing as a Demonologist, Carl was a member of The Atlantic Paranormal Society for eight years and appeared on the first two seasons of the popular SyFy Channel series Ghost Hunters. Carl is featured on the Animal Planet series, The Haunted, also The Travel Channel's documentary, Most Terrifying Places in America. His interests are directed towards origins of arcane lore. You may contact Carl at carcosan@live.com or through Beyond the Veil Paranormal
Dina Palazini will be here from Rhode Island as well. Dina had what may be the first documented sighting of Bigfoot in that state. Here is her bio…

Dina M. Palazini ... can be described as empathic and intuitive, plus she is training in demonology. Since early childhood, she has demonstrated an ability to experience the emotional state of others, human beings and animals, and to detect disembodied presences. Dina conducts an ongoing research with Beyond The Veil Paranormal, the investigating team which she founded in 2009. Dina has participated in television productions including the Animal Planet series, The Haunted, and Travel Channel's Most Terrifying Places in America. You may contact Dina either at her e-mail address, able2c@cox.net or through her Web site, Beyond The Veil Paranormal
In August of 2009, Carl Johnson and Dina Palazini began actively researching evidence and reported sightings of and physical evidence for the presence of a Sasquatch-type cryptid roaming within the borders of the state of Rhode Island. This study was inspired by Dina's personal experience of two decades prior: an encounter with the creature which she vividly recalls. In April, 2010 Carl and Dina founded Big Rhodey Research Society as a networking forum to more effectively continue their exploration of the enigma now for reference classified by Carl as Hominem Hylocomium Tenebrosus and the title of "Big Rhodey" derived from Rhode Island's nickname, "Little Rhody."

Sasquatch The Quest

Here is a trailer for Adrian Erickson's  much anticipated documentary,  Sasquatch the Quest.

The project has been in operation for over 5 years, documenting the Bigfoot in a location in Kentucky and collecting evidence from all over the United States.

The project is being handled scientifically with the assistance of respected biologist Dr. Leila Hadj-Chikh who has seen the Bigfoot and has analyzed the DNA collected over the past 5 years.

Hopefully, with the amount of time and money that has been invested in this project, the scientific community and the general public will now believe and take this evidence seriously.

Bigfoot in Kentucky!

Don't forget to head out to Henderson, Kentucky this afternoon, February 26, 2011 for the book signing of Bigfoot in Kentucky.
Barton will be at Matt’s News & Gifts, 106 N. Elm St., downtown Henderson, Kentucky from 12:00-3:00

Barton Nunnelly, is an author and artist who was born and raised in Kentucky, where he spent decades searching the bottom lands of the Bluegrass State for evidence of its unsolved mysteries which he shared in his first book, Mysterious Kentucky. His curiosity has brought him face to face with such creatures as Bigfoot, water monsters, black panthers and other mysterious cryptids including a Thunderbird in 1998.

The Devil at Lost Creek

Thank you Raymond for this short Gem!  Bigfoot enthusiasts will get a kick out of seeing the Bigfoot books and figurines that we have in our own collections!  Not a lot of great acting, but a fun, short video to watch on your lunch break at work! ;)

The Devil at Lost Creek, 27 minutes, 2010. Complete film. Directed by Raymond Castile.

Little Gary and Shelley live in a dismal world of poverty, trying to avoid their mothers abusive, drug-dealing boyfriend. Their mother, Susan, hesitates to seek help, afraid the state will take her children. Gary and Shelley escape into an innocent dream world, trekking into the woods to search for Garys obsession Bigfoot.

Children say, if you hit a stick against a tree three times in the wilderness, Bigfoot will appear.

In a moment of crisis, Gary calls forth a creature of rage, death and destruction. Is it a demon or avenging angel? Not even the children are safe from its wrath. At Lost Creek, the devil is on the loose.

Visits from the Forest People

I received my complimentary review copy of Visits from the Forest People by Julie Scott and the Scott family and sat down on a snowy Saturday afternoon to read.  The book was not very long at all and I was finished by dinner time.
The Scott family moved into a new home on the Oregon coast and immediately began having strange experiences with what they believed to be a Bigfoot creature.  I was disappointed in the lack of physical evidence shared by the story teller, but I had a chance to chat with researcher "Barb" who assures me that the occurrences were real.
Julie and her husband make no secret of the fact that they were not happy in their new home and had moved on after only 6 months.  Ironically, a Bigfoot enthusiast took over possession of the home for the remainder of their year long lease.  Several researchers inhabited the homestead in the 6 months and gave up the property as the incidents decreased over time.
The book offers little more than a Class B report and Julie's story has been told on several internet radio shows and reported on the BFRO website.

The book is available at Amazon.com for under $13.00

The Bigfoot Filmography: Fictional and Documentary Appearances in Film and Television

The Legend of Boggy Creek~1972
Good news from the folks at McFarland. My new book The Bigfoot Filmography (ISBN 978-0-7864-4828-9) will be first published as an oversized, hardbound edition in the Fall of 2011!
Complete with 100s of rare photos, many never-before published, and interviews with key Bigfoot genre filmmakers, The Bigfoot Filmography: Fictional and Documentary Appearances in Film and Television is a first of its kind reference guide and genre-defining critique of “Cine du Sasquatch” — a newly-proposed genre of horror filmmaking.
But as the overview of every-known Bigfoot film & t.v. appearance makes readily apparent, Cine du Sasquatch is actually as old as the narrative film itself. Citing the earliest examples of Yeti movies by pioneering filmmakers such as George Méliès and Willis O’Brien, and then moving forward through film history to denote key moments in the genre’s progression, The Bigfoot Filmography meticulously documents how the Cine du Sasquatch genre has always been lurking, just out of classification in film critique annals and as misunderstood as the cryptozoological namesake which inspires the films.
With a foreward by noted cryptozoologist, author, and museum curator Loren Coleman (no relation, alas for me, save our shared heredity of a love of Bigfoot Cinema!), The Bigfoot Filmography also includes a complete listing and critique of every known Bigfoot, Yeti, and Sasquatch movie and t.v. appareance, cameo, or significant mention, complete with cast and crew credits, running times, and other resourceful information about each listing.
I’m truly thrilled that after literally years of work, The Bigfoot Filmography will be available for the Bigfoot Cinema fans like myself, many of whom equally feel they’ve been “in hiding” as much as any cryptid for their dedication to a what is still (until publication date!) a misunderstood cinema genre. More info as it becomes available, of course! :) Dave Coleman

When I met Dave in 2010, he was a veritable wealth of information on Bigfoot in Media.  He was overwhelmed with the amount of data that he found every day and could not keep up with all of the books being written on the subject.  This book will definitely be a "must-have" item in every Bigfoot enthusiast's library!
If you would like to order the book from Amazon, contact Craig Woolheater at ecwool@yahoo.com for information on how to order the book using the Cryptomundo access so that a small amount of the sale will go towards Cryptomundo!

23rd Annual Ohio Bigfoot Conference

The rumblings have already begun and people are itching for more information!
The 23rd Annual Ohio Bigfoot Conference will be held this year on May 13th thru the 15th at the Salt Fork State Park Lodge in Lore City, Ohio.
Start pricing your plane tickets folks!  This is the premiere Bigfoot Conference as it is a place to meet with hundreds of fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts!

I'm not sure who Don's guests will be this year, but hopefully they will be informative and entertaining!
Last year we were surprised by Esteban Sarmiento making a cameo appearance.  As well as having some west coast dignitaries dishing up their style of laid back easy going Squatching!

Salt Fork is the BEST place to hold a conference because of it's location, right in the heart of Squatchtivity!  You can meet with your friends all day, then head out at night for some Squatching!

More details to come!

Bigfoot Ballyhoo

Linda Newton Perry had originally come to me about a year and a half ago to promote her children's books.  I was more than willing to spread the word about her books as they were harmless and entertaining and a positive spin on Bigfoot research.

I'm not sure where she went astray from her original quest.

Linda, I have always been kind to you and am extending an invitation to you to tell your side of the story.

If you would like to come on my radio show this Sunday, let me know and I will get the word out.  If you would like to tell me your story here, then I am ok with that as well.

I hope to hear from you soon.

NEW Bigfoot special on the History Channel

NEW Bigfoot special on the History Channel

A team of top scientists come together with one goal to create the definitive guide to Bigfoot.
Does the creature exist? And if it does, where is it?  And how can it survive without being detected?  These questions will be addressed on "Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide"  which airs Wednesday, Feb 2, 2011 at 9/8c pm on the History Channel.

Using a new, interactive map, the team has plotted more than 10,000 Bigfoot-type sightings from around the world.
These sightings are of an unidentified creature which walks upright on two legs and is covered in a thick layer of hair.
Many of these sightings date back over 100+ years.
With their expert knowledge of the natural world they are able to dismiss nearly 90% of the sightings, but what emerges is a series of global hotspots that cannot be explained, which indicates that "something" is out there.

The team examines these global hotspots and searches for explanations including new theories that suggest we may have been looking for the wrong creature all along...
